300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training

The New Day Yoga 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is designed 1) for those who have completed a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and 2) for serious yoga students who desire to deepen their personal study of yoga.

Overview

The course is comprised of 6 Modules. Each Module provides you with 45 contact hours of instruction and practice and a minimum of 15 non-contact hours of personal study. You may begin your 300 Hour Training with any one of the six Modules, as each Module is a separate and stand-alone course.

Since 2020 all New Day Yoga classes, trainings and retreats have moved online. What started out as a necessity has become a blessing! Now Dayna and her team can work with you wherever you live in the convenience of your own home!

To receive the 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Certification, all modules must be completed within a 4-year period. (If you do not desire the certification, you may take as long as you like to complete them.) The Modules may be taken in any order. Each one is a separate study of a specific chakra, its corresponding anatomy, asana, energy, psychology, physiology, philosophy and spirituality. As with all New Day Yoga trainings, classes, and courses, this one is from a Christian perspective. Although traditional concepts and yoga philosophy are included, it is the Bible that remains the authoritative final word on the topics studied.

Module Topics

All Modules include the study and practice of 1) Asana, 2) Anatomy, 3) Principles of Alignment, 4) Pranayama, 5) Chant, and 6) Meditation, as well as 7) Neuroplasticity (Mind-Body Connection), 8) Kinesiology, 9) Ayurveda, 10) Yoga Philosophy, 11) the Biblical/Christian Lifestyle and 11) a comparative study of traditional yogic texts with the Holy Bible. 

For each Module, participants are required to 1) teach an 85-minute asana class, selecting postures from the asana studied, and including an assigned mudra, pranayama, and meditation and 2) complete reading assignments and assigned study questions.

Asana and Anatomy Overview:

  • Module 1: Chakra 1; Anatomy of the Feet, Ankles, Knees, Legs & Pelvis; Standing Poses & Vinyasa Flow.
  • Module 2: Chakra 2; Anatomy of the Pelvic Girdle; Hip Openers & Forward Bends.
  • ​Module 3: Chakra 3; Anatomy of the Trunk; The Psoas; Core Awareness & Activation.
  • ​Module 4: Chakra 4; Anatomy of the Spine; Backbends & Pranayama.
  • Module 5: Chakra 5; Anatomy of the Shoulder Girdle, Neck & Head; Arm Balances & Inversions.
  • ​Module 6: Chakras 6 & 7; Anatomy of the Mind; Restorative Asana.

Training Fee per Module: starting from $900 - $1800 and upward

The cost of each Module is determined by the module you select, the length of time it takes you to complete it, and the number of private coaching sessions you desire.

Instructors

Dayna Gelinas, E-RYT 500, YACEP, is the Founder, Director, Administrator, Curriculum Developer, and Lead Teacher of the 300 Hour Training. Her background covers Vinyasa, Viniyoga, Iyengar, Restorative and Anusara styles of yoga, and the teaching of English for 22 years. Dayna received a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education in 1981 and has continued her formal studies of education and yoga teacher training since 1998.She has taught thousands of yoga classes and continues to teach online workshops, trainings and retreats in Kennesaw, GA. 

Lori Smith, E-RYT 500, is the Anatomy Teacher of the 300 YTT and is affectionately known as the anatomy “engineer,” inspiring others with her detailed knowledge and powerful application of physical anatomy and kinesiology in her somatic classes. Her background covers Iyengar, Anusara, and many other somatic methods of yoga practice, as well as engineering at NASA. Lori currently teaches classes and privates in Huntsville, AL.

Donna Cross, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, is also a Certified Music Practitioner CMP (Harp), an RN, and has just completed a doctorate in theology. Her compassion and medical knowledge provide her with the perfect background to co-lead and teach the mindset component of the 300 YTT. Her specialty is Neuroplasticity, which is the ability of the mind to change and renew itself. Her yoga studies include Vinyasa, Viniyoga, and Iyengar. She currently teaches and preaches in Lancaster, PA.

Norrie Morrison, E-RYT 200, RYT 500,YACEP, teaches on the use of incorporating essential oils to bring balance to your energy and health to the whole body. Her background includes Vinyasa, Iyengar, and the study of essential oils to help promote healing and wholeness of body, mind, and spirit. She currently teaches classes, workshops, and retreats in Marietta, GA.

Sharon Green, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, is a “Jill-of-All-Trades.” She assists in teaching Anatomy, Asana, Sequencing and Mindset, as well as the Yoga Sutra. Her specialty is taking complicated aspects of anatomy, kinesiology, assignments, and philosophy, and making them easily digestible. Her background includes Sadie Nardini’s Core Strength Vinyasa Flow, Vinyasa and Iyengar styles of yoga practice. She currently resides in St. Augustine, FL.

*To become an E-RYT 200 you must have a minimum of 2 years and 1,000 hours of yoga teaching experience since becoming certified at the 200 hour level.
